Emo emo emo emo emo. screw you. i'll mention whatever i want.
BUT! very good thread idea. In songwriting: i dislike most of the stuff i spew. the face value lamented thoughts.but i won't stop doing them. i ow the fact that some of my feelings are expressed in song to korn and linkin park. most of their songs were expressions or emotions, despair, sadness, anger. but they weren't pretensious about it and dealt with the feelings honestly. the agressive stuff i write comes mainly from early metallica. these i like emensly and metallica lyrics such as those in battery, damage inc., dyers eve etc. my themed songs based on anything mythical or fantasy-ish, i owe to cradle and maiden, for most of cradle's songs and iron maiden songs like Moonchild, seventh son, children of the damned, the likes. i enjoy writting these, but they are much more difficult and i have yet to write a whole one long enough to live up to their inspirations, but i will. and outdo them!

there was one stage of my song writing in which i wished to be like cobain and hetfield, all at once, not possible but then i started writing songs from feeling and they were better than the ones which i made up for the hell of it I suppose though i do owe my desired sound to nirvana et.decromat for example Then however id move on to more kind of skillful grunge in form of pearl jam.i love the guys lyrics, they get to me and i wish i could get the point across in the way that he does Im not a huge metal fan ill admit, phil, adm and ryna would have that corner however i in no way hate it.i suppose none of my songs are influenced but i would love to write a really good metal song And finally i suppose i arrive at the likes of audioslave and alterbridge.most of the stuff im writing presently, very little of it are influenced by them.though the guitaring in both bands are more complex i think they can resemble them, for example a new one im working on called son

in lyrics: no-one really influences me a lot lyric wise, although i'm trying to make my lyrics a little more poetic and thought-provoking - along the lines of bell x1. but for the most part my lyrics are obvious and slightly boring.
in music: well you know me, johnny four-chords, so i guess that's mostly influenced by other johnny four-chords like the frames and josh ritter. however, i'm trying to branch out a little and make up tabs and stuff, i guess a little influenced by franz ferdinand but not really.

When i piant i usually do it to what im feeling at the time and i can really work out coz nothing cheers me up more than painting so if im sad i grab my gear and try to hold on to that feeling and let it out on the canvas
it doesnt always work though ......... i might listen to music somtimes and copy the feeling of the song to put down some marks ......

i cant write songs. i dont have the guts.
but my singing influences would mainly be brian molko. he has an unreal range which alot of people dont know about. i think christina aguliera's voice is amazing but not her actual music. also courtney loves voice has a lot of attitude. i try to mix all of it.

sh*t! i forgot singing... I like the way that dani (filth) screams, but screams the right notes and everything (although not so much in later stuff). i also like that sort of ....eirie (?) effect when he goes extremely high or low with the music and you can't really make out what he's saying AT ALL because it's one big gothic shreik. i like that. i'd like to be able to do that. John davis from korn on the first album. compassionate expressive growling. wow. he was amazing. then again on thoughtless when he's signing very proffessionally and aggresively. you can hear what he says loud and clear, even though he doesn't sound like one of them five-year-old-voiced modern "punk" singers. his ability to slip straight from a death metal growl to a crystal clear hormonic voice influences me hugely, showing a vocal diversity. Hetfeild. not the best singer in the world. but he gets the message accross without emotion lost at all. New Hetfield. his voice on s&m is...wow. mature compassionate, capable...if i can accomplish close to that in a years time, i'll be the happyiest philip in the world. hetfeild general. he can sing accoustic as well as he can sing heavy metal. sanitarium right next to disposable heroes. he has undeniable tallent. Bathory singer. he does black metal singing very well. and he thwarts the argument that black metal vocalists do what they do because they can't sing propperly. He would have made millions if he sang the way he does in accoustic songs like ring of gold. but he chooses to sing black metal-ish. anybody who thinks black metal vocalists are talentless can suck on that.
I AM NOT INFLUENCED IN SINGING BY COREY TAYLOR. HE'S f**kING CLASS, BUT I PREFFER ALL OF THE ABOVE. TAKE NOTE OF THIS JAMES.

hmm i dont know whats ever influenced me ive never really thought about it i gess like so many others i write to the tune of how i feel and it really helps what i do is i come up with lyrics, like they generally just come to me and quite often they're rubbish but i jot them down all the same and then at a later date reading how they were wrtitten my handwriting the words, brings those felings back to me.. i know it probably sounds stupid but thats just me and every now and again i come across soemthing great and i can put it in song or have jamuss do it for me so iss all good

actually that's an interesting topic - methods of writing? what usually happens to me is i get a line or two that sounds kinda cool and save it in my phone. then at a later date i'd combine everything together. then in some cases i would have a theme or whatever through the whole thing so centre things around that. then other ones i just put pen to paper and it all comes out.

bord in a free class and either i spit out exactly what malevolence is in my head at that time or take an idea i wanted to do and do it. or i feel very empowered and take the reigns of my feelings and put them into order. i used to have this inner madness in me that made me write lyrics that were sooo insane and i miss them. over time i kinda lost that bipolarity. which is why most of the stuff i write now is kinda boring.

guitaring i suppose my influences would be mark tremonti of alterbridge, adm's right the guy is unnatural.mike mc cready is pretty good.even though cobain was not a great guitarist, the way he payed hit me,its like phil and hetfield, hes not that great but some of his stuff can never be played by anyone else.and noone else thought of teenspirit. acoustic wise im a fan of damien rice, and even though she's not acoutic erin mckeown is an unnatural blues guitarist, and i dont mean katie melua,i mean the equvelant of well,ok she not as good as JB but shes not too far off, well maybe a bit but shes really good vocals,i like vedder and again cobain but i at this point i have to say my main ones are without a doubt chris cornell and myles kennedy.unnautral singers.
