Ok so tabs sites are closing down.No biggy.Half the people on this site have learned to pick ip music by ear,so I've decided to post some scales for those who wish to learn them. Not to act all high and mighty, just thought it would help.Lets start with freights
for those who don;t know these,it's really important for every insturment to stay in key
1.F 2.F# 3.G 4.G# 5.A 6.A# 7.B 8.C 9.C# 10.D# 11.E 12.F 13.F#
That's basing if it's played on the low E string. If it's played on the A string it begins i A# and works its way up in the same progression.it doesn't stop at freight 13,i just did.

thankyou young sir cusack.ok next is the pentatonic blue scale.i should probably point out to all those who haven't copped on already, you move the freight to fit the scale.e.g,if you're playing in G you simply move it the 3rd freight
Ok,pentatonic blues in Am
E--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------5---------8 B-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------5--------8-------------- G---------------------------------------------------------------5---------7---------8------------------------------ D----------------------------------------------5-----7-------------------------------------------------------------- A--------------------------5-----6----7----------------------------------------------------------------------------- E----------5--------8------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ok not to be a kill joy but this thread is for those who want to learn scales and techniques which i'm posting.I'm taking time out to do it so that people can help themselves improve.if you can't plah guitar you're obviously going to find it confusing caz it has nothing to do with you.i don't mind answering questions but not stupid ones.if you read my instructions carefully, its summarize in 2 or 3 lines, simple as that

Ok before i post up the major scales,i'll post a quick warm-up which a lot of guitarists use and it helps because you're using all your fingers, here it is
E------------------------------------------------------1--2--3--4 B------------------------------------------1-2-3-4---------------- G-------------------------------1-2-3-4--------------------------- D-------------------- 1-2-3-4------------------------------------- A-----------1-2-3-4----------------------------------------------- E-1-2-3-4----------------------------------------------------------

you left out my very favorite. the one i thought myself. G:--------------------------------0--2--4- D:---------------------0--2--3------------ A:----------0--2--3----------------------- E:0--1--3---------------------------------
Piss easy and i may have gone on too long but i think i deserve some credit for working out E by my ownsome on my first instrument.

yes. i thought scales only cosisted of eight notes? they do. your playing 8 notes twice except for the pentatonic which is 5 notes. the major scale is basically the 8 note scale...then again in a different octave. if you play the 5th fret on the e string...then go up the 8 note scale ..the 8 note is the same as the first. just a higher octave.
